Comportement Mécanique des Mortiers Composites à base de Ciment-Polymère
In order to overcome the lower tensile strength of ordinary mortars, the incorporation of polymers into mortars is one of the quick and effective solutions. This paper summarizes the results of an experimental study developed on latex-modified mortars. Tensile strength tests and compressive strength tests were carried out. The test bodies were prepared with different resin contents while partially substituting cement by styrene polyacrylic latex (SPA) where the rate of incorporation of SPA lies between 0% and 20% by weight of cement and we opt for the formulation «iso W/C». The second objective of this work is the study of the effect of curing on the mechanical behavior of the mortars studied. The results revealed that partial substitution of the cement by the SPA latex adversely affected the mechanical behavior of the composites when the W/C ratio was maintained constant. Moreover, the curing treatment has a significant impact on the mechanical properties of all treated mortars and the wet cure seems to be the best way of cure. This study has demonstrated the use of a superplasticizer and the use of "iso-rheology" formulation.
