MENINGKATKAN KEMANDIRIAN MASYARAKAT PANTAI MELALUI PELATIHAN PERAWATAN POMPA AIR
Abstract Water is the main need for humans in their daily activities, however, the limited clean water network (PAM) means that many places still rely on groundwater sources, as well as the Wilayah Binaan Unggulan UNJ Faculty of Engineering in Pantai Sederhana Village, Muara Gembong District, Bekasi Regency, West Java. The problem for residents living in the coastal area is that this area has a source of salty groundwater which causes the water pump as a means of distributing water for household needs to be damaged more quickly. In general, this damage is caused by a lack of maintenance and the damage can be repaired by the water pump user himself if they know the cause. This training is important to equip people who are used to operating these water pumps, to increase the independence of village communities so they can maintain, diagnose, and carry out minor repairs to water pump engines independently. The training is carried out by providing material in the form of a basic theory of understanding and working of water pump components, maintenance, and methods for diagnosing and repairing water pumps. After completing the presentation of the material, the practice of diagnosing and repairing water pumps was continued. The results of the training which were measured qualitatively showed that the training participants gained additional knowledge about theory and also diagnosing water pump damage which could be used as additional knowledge in increasing the independence of village communities.
