A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
International Workshop on Calorimeter Simulation, held at KFA Jülich, Germany, October 11-13, 1988
Computersimulation of particle showers in calorimeter assemblies is of high and increasing importance due to the detector requirements of the coming generation of high energy physics experiments as in near future go into operation at DESY, GERN, SLAC and FERMI or as planned in the SSC project. The aim of the Jülich workshop was to provide an overview of the state of calorimeter simulation and the methods used. This resulted in 29 contributions to the following topics: • Codesystems relevant to calorimeter simulation • Vectorization and code speed-up • Simulation of calorimeter experiments • Special applications of calorimeter simulation. This report presents the viewgraphs of the given talks. The great interest in the workshop became evident by the large number of participants, who expressed the opinion that the Workshop should take place again after a year. The organization commitee wish to thank Professor Dr. J. Treusch from the board of directors of the KFA for his interest and the financial support, Ms. Uta Banken for the excellent organization and last but not least all participants of the workshop.
