D2.4 Guidelines on Participatory Approach and Co-Design Workshops:Horizon 2020 - Mobility Urban Values (MUV)
Participation is a complex process with many factors and possibilities; MUV research on this subject focuses on the effects and the outcomes (Blanchet-Cohen 2014) of participation into what MUV distinguishes between the co-creation process and co-design solutions. Both co-creation (process-oriented) and co-design (solutions-oriented) are important sources that when interact suggest innovative learning loops and directions for policy making. This aims to have effects and returns in terms of capacity building, including therefore effects on community responsibility and action beyond the durance of the MUV project and beyond the specific scope of the MUV solutions. MUV participatory approach aims at understanding how to build capacity at the neighbourhood scale in order for the citizens, local business and public authorities to become the active part of the change toward more sustainable mobility urban values in their city.
