A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Kretingos rajono savivaldybės kraštovaizdžio formavimosi ypatumai / ; The formation peculiarities of Kretinga region landscape.
Object of the research: Landscape of Kretinga region. Aim of the research: to analyze factors influencing landscape of Kretinga township. Objectives of the research: 1. To investigate the factors, which have affect on landscape. 2. To analyze land cover changes of Kretinga region, which have affected the landscape formation. 3. To identify the most abnormal area locations. 4. To investigate the influence of wind turbines of derelict land appearance on Kretinga landscape. The research was supported by the methods: literature analysis method, data analysis method, the induction method, comparative method and generalization method. Determining the land cover change from 1995 to 2012 years in 6 elderships of the Kretinga district municipality, ArcGIS and Corine1995, Corine2005, Corine2012 database were used. It was found that in the Kretinga district municipality in 1995-2012 the landscape was changing unevenly under the influence of technogenic factors. In 1995¬2012 the biggest positive change is observed in the complex areas of agriculture, it increased by 7,052.2 hectares. These areas are expanded through all possible land cover and the biggest change is noticeable in Kretinga eldership (+3,003.5 hectares). Green urban areas, forests, peat bogs and bodies of water in this period increased, but the change of just 1% of the municipal area is observed respectively. In 1995-2012 the biggest negative change was observed in arable land (-5,653.6 hectares). Most the amount of arable land decreased in Kretinga eldership (-2,497.5 hectares). Here, the decline was driven by increase of complex areas of agriculture and forests land. It was found that these changes have affected the landscape. On completion of The analysis of wind power plants and abandoned lands, it was found that wind power plants and their parks do not affect the appearance of abandoned land. However, it can be said that bad selection of wind farms location damage the visual landscape value.
