Can a technical-driven city really apply urban green infrastructure planning? : A study on how urban green infrastructure planning is implemented on the strategic level of planning in Västerås.
The following study of Västerås, Sweden, aimed to analyse the strategic planning for urban green infrastructure in coherence with the strategies implemented in the Green Surge project, with the help of the following research questions: (1) How is urban green infrastructure involved in the strategic level of planning in Västerås and (2) What stakeholders are involved within the strategic planning of urban green infrastructure in Västerås; what collaborations exist? Based on interviews and document analysis of strategic planning documents of UGI planning, the findings provided insight into coherence with the Green Surge project. Moreover, the findings show that different challenges are highlighted within the Green Surge project and contextual challenges. Lastly, the finding provides insight into the existing collaborations within the implementation of UGI planning and the need for new collaboration structures.
