"The Gävle Blend, A Taste of Gävle" is a thesis project aimed at enhancing the presence of Gevalia, Sweden's largest coffee manufacturer, in Gävle. Gevalia produces nearly half of all coffee consumed in Sweden, yet its local presence is minimal. The project proposes a Gevalia visitor center near the factory, featuring a three-story wooden building that combines historical and modern design elements. The center will house a warehouse, roastery, cupping room, café/shop, and exhibition space, allowing visitors to engage with the coffee-making process and local history. This initiative aims to benefit both Gävle residents and Gevalia by providing a community space, educational opportunities, and a potential tourist attraction, ultimately strengthening the bond between the brand and the city.
