BUILDING DEVELOPER`S APPROACH TO SAFETY IN THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY ; STATYBININKŲ POŽIŪRIS Į SAUGUMĄ STATYBOS PRAMONĖJE
The health and well-being of construction project workers are being threatened by the increasing cases of injuries and casualties recorded at construction sites. Much research has established numerous approach in order to reduce the frequency of accident. Only a few studies focus on building developers.The main purpose of this paper is to evaluate building developer approaches to safety performance in the construction industry of Nigeria. Data was collected from building developers in the northern part of Nigeria through the aid of questionnaire surveys and interview. The results of the study showed that 58% of the respondent do not address safety at the conceptual project phase. In addition, contractor selection is not influenced by the contractor safety performance. The result of the study may be of potential benefit to the administrators of building developer, designers and policy makers. ; Statybos projekto darbuotojų sveikatai ir gerovei kelia grėsmę vis dažnesni sužalojimų ir aukų atvejai, užfiksuoti statybose. Daugybė tyrimų nustatė daugybę būdų, kaip sumažinti avarijų dažnį. Tik keli tyrimai skirti pastatų kūrėjams. Pagrindinis šio straipsnio tikslas yra įvertinti pastatų kūrėjų požiūrį į Nigerijos statybos pramonės saugos rodiklius. Duomenys buvo surinkti iš šiaurinės Nigerijos dalies pastatų vystytojų atliekant klausimyno apklausas ir interviu. Tyrimo rezultatai parodė, kad 58% respondentų nesusiję su saugumu konceptualaus projekto etape. Be to, rangovo pasirinkimui įtakos neturi rangovo saugos rezultatai. Tyrimo rezultatas gali būti potencialiai naudingas pastatų vystytojų administratoriams, projektuotojams ir politikos formuotojams.
