PENGARUH VARIASI DIAMETER PULLEY TERHADAP DAYA LISTRIK YANG DIHASILKAN PADA PROTOTYPE TURBIN PELTON
Hydroelectric power generation is one of the renewable energy that has been widely developed in Indonesia to overcome the increase in electricity demand, in 2022 it is estimated that the increase in electricity demand will increase by three times. Most power plants in Indonesia use fossil fuels, such as petroleum, natural gas and coal. With the use of fossil fuels that are increasingly depleted, renewable energy is needed. Water energy is very suitable for use as renewable energy in Indonesia. Water energy is utilized from the potential energy of water into mechanical energy by rotating a turbine which is then converted into electrical energy through a generator. By varying the pulley diameter of 100mm, 125mm, 150mm, 175mm, and 50mm generator turbines to find out how much influence the pulley comparison has on the electrical power produced in the pelton turbine protoype. The highest torque and electric power results occur in a variation of 175mm diameter: 50mm, producing 0.2 Nm of torque value and 5.8 watts of electric power. While the lowest shaft rotation and electrical power occur in variations of the diameter of 100mm: 50mm, producing a torque value of 0.056 Nm and electric power of 1.5 watts. It can be concluded that the greater the diameter of the pulley in the turbine can increase torque and increase electrical power in the Pelton turbine prototype.
