East High School - Rochester, N.Y., 1908?
Exterior view of East High School at 410 Alexander Street, designed by J. Foster Warner. It was established in 1903 through a Board of Education decision to build two new high schools (east and west) to alleviate crowded conditions at the Rochester Free Academy. It featured 45 classrooms, science labs, a library, gymnasiums, locker rooms, lunchrooms and an assembly hall, and could accommodate 1008 students. In 1959, a new school was built at East Main and Culver, and the old building became an apartment complex called "East Court".
