Harmonization of cyclical construction processes: a systematic review
Oleg Kapliński was born in Vilnius in 1942 in the family of intellectuals. Very soon, because of the Second World War, the family moved to Poznan. Basic education he received in Karol Marcinkowski Lyceum. Strong educational basics helped him to pass successfully the maturity exams. Influenced by father, the well-known architect, Oleg Kapliński decided to continue the family tradition and joined the Poznan University of Technology, Faculty of Construction. 22 years old he has defended master's thesis and after the end of the study continued research career at the University. Very young (about 32 years old) Oleg Kapliński passed habilitation procedure. During the long period of research career in the field of construction organization and project management Professor has published more than 200 publications. They examine the issues of risk management in construction projects, applications of expert and hybrid systems, phenomenon of equilibrium, phenomenon of waiting, advanced approaches to working time management, queuing theory, uniform methods of measurements of construction work, network methods and other issues important to the construction sector. The evolutionary path in the Professor's research and methods presented in Figure 1. In his works Professor analyzed problems of social, economic and technological systems using a variety of operations research methods and models. In 1996 Professor Oleg Kapliński was awarded as Honorary Doctor of Vilnius Gediminas Technical University. Thanking for engagement in the development of international collaboration of academic communities the colleagues from Vilnius Gediminas Technical University dedicate this article to Professor Oleg Kapliński and wish many years of the fruitful work and satisfaction from researcher activities.
