Cost-optimal levels of minimum energy performance requirements in the Danish Building Regulations
This report analyses the cost-optimality of the energy requirements in the Danish Building Regulation 2018(BR18) for both new buildings and for existing buildings undergoing major renovation. The evaluation is performed by the Danish Building Research Institute, Aalborg University, on request from the Danish Transportation, Building and Housing Agency. The Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) requires Member States to set minimum energy performance requirements for buildings and building elements with a view to achieving cost-optimal levels. Member States are obliged to evaluate and report the cost-optimality of the national energy requirements. The energy requirements in the Danish Building Regulation have by tradition always been based on the cost and benefits related to the private economical or the financial perspective. ; This report analyses the cost-optimality of the energy requirements in the Danish Building Regulation 2018 (BR18) for both new buildings and for existing buildings undergoing major renovation.
