Urbanization Challenges and Sustainable City Planning in Uzbekistan
Rapid urbanization has led to significant challenges in urban development, particularly in ensuring sustainability in densely populated areas. This study explores the dynamics of urban planning and city design in Uzbekistan, emphasizing the interplay of natural, ecological, and social environments. Despite established urban planning norms, a knowledge gap exists in adapting these principles to mitigate issues such as pollution, urban heat islands, and insufficient green spaces in modern Uzbek cities. The research adopts a comparative analytical approach, examining local urbanization patterns against global benchmarks. Key findings highlight the critical need for integrating ecological considerations into urban planning, including optimizing building density, preserving natural landscapes, and addressing microclimate anomalies. Results indicate that balanced development models can mitigate environmental and social risks, offering viable strategies for sustainable urban growth. The implications of this research underscore the importance of designing urban spaces that align with ecological resilience and societal needs, providing a foundation for policy development and future architectural practices.
