The Selden Building fire at E. Main and Gibbs was on April 13, 1909. High winds carried sparks throughout the neighborhood, damaging three churches, nearly 50 homes, and other buildings on Gibbs Street, Stillson Street, Grove Place, and other streets. A view of Stillson Street is probably showing the effects of that same fire, with smoldering buildings, wreckage on the ground, and fire fighters and spectators milling around.
