Statinėms apkrovoms atsparių asfalto mišinių bitumo atsparumo šalčiui modelis ; The model of frost resistant bitumen using in asphalt mixtures resistant to static loads
In manufacture of asphalt mixtures resistant to static loads is the tendency to use harder bitumen. However, at low temperature it becomes too stiff and results in thermal cracking. It is noted that in Lithuania is severe winter, so this kind of phenomenon is often observed. The practice of foreign countries shows that the selection of bitumen evaluating its resistance to frost restricts thermal cracking. Consequently, the aim of this master thesis is to create the model of frost resistant bitumen using in asphalt mixtures resistant to static loads. In order to implement this aim, there is analyzed methods, which are used in foreign countries to evaluate bitumen sensitivity to frost, and requirements for asphalt mixture and its component considering to resistance to plastic deformation and thermal cracking. There is introduced the theoretical model of frost resistant bitumen using in asphalt mixtures resistant to static loads which is corrected after experimental research. In this master thesis are recommendations for algorithm of bitumen selection evaluating its resistance to frost. Besides, there is calculated the economic effect of use of the model of frost resistant bitumen using in asphalt mixtures resistant to static loads. This master thesis includes 95 pages, 40 figures, 12 tables and 1 appendix.
