MAS-based Energy Management and Control System of Smart Homes for Local Energy Transacting
Power systems worldwide are complex and challenging environments. Integration of renewable energy sources rises complexity of the energy management problems in the power systems. Multi Agent Systems (MASs) make this opportunity to model and study several issues related to the complex systems. In a smaller scale, a residential energy management system would be effective for the both sides of the network. It can reduce the electricity costs of the demand side, and it can help the power grid to be more robust in peak times. This paper represents a multi-agent approach to model the smart home’s energy system. In the proposed case study, smart home can exchange energy with the upstream operator in distributed power system, and manage its own energy consumption autonomously. ; This work has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation program under the Marie Sklodowska-Curie grant agreement No 641794 (project DREAM-GO).
