Southern Oregon AVA; Rogue Valley AVA ; Bear Creek Growing Area ; Oversized postcard featuring views of the tasting room and verso with a description of same; measures 8.5"x 5.5"; horizontal aspect ; Belle Fiore Winery, Estate & Vineyard is a 52 acre property off of Dead Indian Memorial Road in Ashland, Oregon. Owners Edward and Karen Kerwin purchased the property in 2001, first constructing a classical French-style chateau during 2003-2007, then the Italianate Belle Fiore Winery, Tasting Room and Wine Pavilion. The winery was completed in 2012 and the estate opened to the public in 2013. The winery was designed by DKA Architecture in Bend, Oregon, and by interior designer Bonnie Davidson and is energy efficient, circulating water through nine miles of buried underground pipes allowing ground-source heat pump units to air condition the building and to refrigerate the barrel rooms, storage rooms and wine tanks. The winery is sealed with closed cell polyurethane foam insulation. The vineyards were planted 2007-2009 and include Bordeaux grape varietals: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc and Petit Verdot. Burgundian Pinot Noir grapes, and Rhone varietals of Syrah and Italian and Spanish varietals are also planted, including Muscat Caneli, Montepulciano, Fiano, Coda-di-Volpe, and Barbera clones and from Spain, Teraldego. Private rooms, event halls, lavish gardens and beautiful views delight the soul.
