A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
The Southwest German Archive for Architecture and Civil Engineering (saai) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) is a collection of building and architectural related material founded by the German state of Baden-Württemberg. It is mainly dedicated to the preservation of collections of notable architects. In spite of its limited resources, saai has become one of the largest and most important archives of its kind in Germany, due greatly to the synergistic effect its link to universities offers. The facility’s success with its research projects and exhibitions, however, has led KIT to doubt it can provide the necessary infrastructure
