A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Entwicklung eines Bewertungssystems für strukturelle und räumliche Planungen von Interdisziplinären Notaufnahmen in Krankenhäusern
The aim of the dissertation is to prepare a method for developing a planning aid and assessment system for architects and design planners. As an example, the process shall be carried out for the structural and spatial planning of central interdisciplinary emergency units in hospitals, since the influence on all processes and structures of the hospitals is greatest at the interface between the urban environment and the associated clinic. The determination of the rooms for improvement on the basis of currently six main topics of central interdisciplinary emergency units includes the valid and necessary requirements of all involved groups of stakeholders. Such requirements are transformed into criteria step by step and lead to a topic-related structure. The systematic collection of work data is based on the analysis of the content of relevant specialist literature including print and online media as well as on the examination of exemplary projects. Supplemented by checking and applying the planning and design guidelines of „Healing Architecture“, „Green Building Guidelines“, and „Evidence Based Design“, I formulate approaches and planning recommendations for compensating the requirements of the main topics. Due to their relevance to the present and their foundation in reality, they are checked, discussed and completed with the help of expert interviews with regard to their correctness, relevance, benefit, and feasibility. Building on it, a deduction and structuring of the indicators of the assessment system follow. In the use case, the assessment catalogue shall be applicable independent of the progress and of the scope of the individual project. Which is why, it is subject to a topic and area related structure that results from the main topics’ evaluation steps and ensures a flexible application. In order to represent the practical options of applying the assessment system, I shall finally prepare the assessment for three current planning projects of central interdisciplinary emergency units. In addition to the application of the method for developing a planning aid and assessment system for interdisciplinary emergency units, the results offer approaches for transferring the procedure to other functional units and functional sections of hospitals.
