BIM-enabled construction supply chain integration
bridging on-site and off-site processes
The fragmentation of the construction supply chain is widely discussed and criticized. Due to the interdependence between supply chain and construction site, the negative effects caused by a logistics or construction interruption can be amplified. This research aims to improve the integration of the construction supply chain by linking processes of off-site production, logistics and on-site construction. This research extracts data from Building Information Modeling (BIM) models and uses it to enhance off-site product and process data modeling and conduct lead-time control and site stock control.
