Rough and blunt – that is how the facade of the townhouse and its exposed Imperial German format bricks appears to viewers. It establishes a strong contrast to the smoothly rendered neighbouring buildings, while still responding to them in an harmonic way. Both the visible traces of its history and the present-day elements are characteristic to the building: Exposed brick meets precisely executed, sharp edged exterior casing, which conceals the frames of the narrow windows.
Roh und ruppig erscheint die Fassade des Stadthauses mit seinen freigelegten Reichsformatziegeln. Zu den glatt verputzten Nachbarbauten bildet sie einen starken Kontrast und wirkt dennoch harmonisch. Denn die sichtbaren Spuren ihrer Geschichte sind ebenso prägend wie die Elemente der Gegenwart: Vom Putz befreite Ziegel treffen auf präzise ausgeführte, scharfkantige Faschen, hinter denen sich die Rahmen schmaler Fenster verbergen.
