Tulips over the Hudson
Manhattan has a new green space. Not far from the High Line, it rises from a platform on the Hudson River. Between dilapidated wooden piers – the last remnants of the old Pier 54 – concrete tulip-shaped columns lift Little Island out of the water like a bed of flowers.
Manhatten hat eine neue Grünanlage: Sie erhebt sich auf einer Plattform im Hudson River, ganz in der Nähe des High Line-Geländes. Zwischen den maroden Holzpfeilern, die letzten Überreste des alten Pier 54, stehen heute Betonsäulen in Tulpenform, die den Park Little Island wie Blumen aus dem Wasser heben.
