With its historical buildings and impressive gardens, Cambridge University attracts visitors and students from all over the world. The Judge Business School, founded in 1990, was accommodated in what was formerly Addenbrooke’s Hospital., , At that time, John Outram, the architect, redesigned what had previously been hospital wards to create teaching spaces. He also converted the central building into an extensive hall with open staircases, galleries and loggia-like balconies in a postmodern style. The idea of an overall interweaving of functions was of central importance for the extension by Stanton Williams, too.
