Die Nordseeinsel Texel liegt vor der nordholländischen Küste im friesischen Wattenmeer. Ihre reichhaltige Fauna und Flora macht sie zum beliebten Urlaubsziel. Baustoffmärkte und Handwerksbetriebe gibt es dort nicht. Eine möglichst effiziente Konstruktion für das kleine Ferienhaus war daher eine logische Konsequenz, um nur wenige Baumaterialien vom Festland per Schiff auf die Insel transportieren zu müssen. Das Resultat ist dieses kleine Haus aus Holz, das in Heerhugoward, nur rund, eineinhalb Fahr- und Fährstunden von Texel entfernt, vorgefertigt wurde.
The North Sea island of Texel is located off the northern Dutch coast, in the Frisian Wadden Sea. Its rich fauna and flora make it a popular holiday destination. Neither home improvement stores nor construction businesses exist here. For the construction of the small holiday home to be as efficient as possible, the logical conclusion was to transport the least possible amount of construction materials by ship from the mainland to the island. The result is the small timber house, prefabricated in Heerhugoward, located about one and a half travel hours by car and ferry from Texel.
