In one of the few remaining ensembles of old buildings in Hong Kong Herzog & de Meuron and Rocco Design have inserted two new buildings which, through their shimmering aluminium facades, differ from their surroundings in a pleasantly homogeneous way. The sculptured structure of the building envelope modifies the metal’s shininess and reveals the modular character.
