This work intends to understand the relations among the architecture faith and power in Parai-ba Valley analysed by the Education History. For this purpose, it was studied São Joaquim`s architecture, from 1890 to 1913, belonging to Catholic Church. As data were used the magazine O Grêmio founded in 1910 and written by the students of Joaquim Nabuco, from São Joaquim High School. It used to photos of CEDOC (Center of document of São Joaquim High School) and the private collection of the teacher and photographer from Lorena, Ercio Molinary.
