A method of 3D network modeling of discontinuities in rock slope
Based on the non-contact photograph technique and the Monte-Carlo random theory, a new three-dimensional network modeling method of discontinuities in rock slopes is proposed that includes details about surveying discontinuities of rock slopes in the field, determining the distribution of discontinuities, constructing of probability distributed discontinuities in a rock slope and 3D network simulation.The investigation site of the rock slope in Xudonggou open pit of Anqian iron mine in Liaoning province was taken as an engineering background.The implementation process of the method was introduced in detail and the validity of this method was verified.The result shown that the three-dimensional simulation method of discontinuities in rock slope proposed in this paper was reliable.The method can provide theoretical bases and references for determining the three-dimensional strength of rocks in the slope, size effect analyses and stability analyses of rock slopes.
