Des zones de solidarité à un scénario d’adaptation au changement climatique en Charente-Maritime (France, Région Poitou-Charentes)
Whereas Xynthia storm hit the Charente coast (France) leaving a massive coastal flooding in 2010 (I), shouldn’t we consider this natural disaster as a « weak » signal of what the coastline could look like in 2100 ? On the Solidarity Zones, the withdraw back-urbanization movement has left place for a change of amenities (II.) As a result, a no longer inhabited, coastline allows the nature to take back over, constituting a global benefit. On a larger scale, it is time to adapt this very specific coastal territory to the consequences of climate change. A prospective scenario (III.) shows how the assessment of the system of interdependencies embracing the coastline, the back-coastal zones and the hinterland leads to a sustainable urban adaptation to crossed climate change issues.
