A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Planungszyklus für eine zukunftsfähige Entwicklung von Stadtregionen
In this article a planning cycle for a sustainable development of urban regions is presented, in which current changes of spatial planning are linked with elements of the sustainable development debate. In subsequent phases the planning cycle comprises a strategic orientation to sustainable development objectives, the use of economic management instruments, formal and informal planning instruments as well as an evaluation of the spatial development results by indicators of sustainable development. Finally, remaining open questions are mentioned.
