Study on visual acuity curves of the elderly
Abstract This research discusses basic data for lighting design in an aged society. The presented data are the result of an experiment which studied the relation of three parameters: object size (Landolt ring), luminance contrast of target and background, and background luminance. When viewed under the same threshold conditions, the results show that a higher level of brightness is necessary for elderly people than for young people.
