Eco labeling in industry: Review
The environment is everything that surrounds us and on which depends the quality of our lives, our health and our survival on the planet. Environmental management is becoming an issue of great importance in business because organizations can no longer be developed without considering their impact on the environment. Eco-labels are one of the environmental management tools, which help the users to opt for those products that have less negative impact on the environment, and are therefore tools for quality assurance. The aim of this paper is to provide an overview of the concept and importance of eco-labels in the industry. This paper presents the concept of eco-labels, its importance, the types of eco-labels and their establishment in standards, and it also gives a brief review of the literature about the application of eco-labels in various industrial sectors.
