Treatment of desulfurization wastewater from power plant by vacuum membrane distillation
Desulfurization wastewater is one of the industrial wastewater that difficult to be treated from thermal power plants due to its complex composition and various pollutants. A multi-effect flat plate style vacuum membrane distillation unit was used to concentrate and reduce desulfurization wastewater from a certain Thermal Power Co., Ltd.. The application effect and influencing factors of vacuum membrane distillation technology in desulfurization wastewater treatment were studied. The results showed that the desulfurization wastewater could be concentrated to a salt mass fraction of over 20% after treatment with vacuum membrane distillation technology. The electric conductivity of the produced water was less than 300 μS/cm and the desalination rate was more than 99%. The total hardness was less than 77 mg/L. The mass concentrations of Ca2+, Mg2+, CODCr, Cl- and SO42- in the produced water were less than 2.56 mg/L, 74.8 mg/L, 52 mg/L, 94.8 mg/L and 98.9 mg/L respectively, and the removal rates were greater than 96.3%, 83.1%, 89.6%, 99.7% and 99.1% respectively. The water quality of the produced water met the water quality standard of circulating cooling water for intermediate cooling open system in the Design Code of Industrial Recirculating Cooling Water Treatment(GB/T 50050-2017), which could be used as replenishing circulating cooling water in power plants.
