A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism

Coping with demographic change constitutes one of the central challenges of the states and societies in Europe for the coming decades. Following a short review of the regional impacts of demographic change and the related policy requirements of spatial planning, the article aims to consider the variety of research projects which the German Academy for Regional Research and Regional Planning (ARL) is carrying out at present in the thematic field “Spatial Impacts of Demographic Change”.
