A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
The aim of this article is to contrast classical and critical postmodern geopolitics
using critical epistemologies which renew contemporary political geography. An antigeopolitics perspective is presented with the epistemological purpose of proposing critical geopolitics with the potential for constructing counter-spaces, democratic spatial counter-orders and counter-geographies of power. Hence, territorial justice arises on an ethical horizon which stakes out a position of anti-geopolitics and examples of territorial dynamics in contemporary Latin America are used to illustrate this kind of approach. The intellectual presence of Bertha Becker guides the text and provides inspiration for a Geography of anti-geopolitics.
