The text deals with specific problems of municipal green areas and the primeval remains, with respect to responsibilities brought about by demands for environmental protection. The case of Ljubljana is used to present the position of urban landscapes that are being slowly replaced by other uses from the urban tissue because they are without statutory protection, a previously checked and adopted value system and under conditions of negotiated solving of spatial problems.
