Naval maritime dockyards and Port Mediterranean City Museums
The essay put in evidence the relevance of the today construction of the Historical City Museums to produce a correct diffusion of the long urban history knowledge to a large public, unit with the knowledge of their territory and of their urban and architectonic heritage values. Promotion and diffusion of the knowledge fundamental base for a profitable urban conservation of the ancient settlements.
The Historical City Museums are built in the new buildings, with high symbolic value, but also with the re-use of ancient architectures. This essay speak about the re-valorization with a new use, as historical city museums, of the large spaces, Medieval and Renaissance, of the naval maritime dockyards of the Mediterranean port towns: as the dockyards of Venice, Pisa, Barcellona, Valencia and Amalfi, relevant prexistences of their identity of sea-towns.
