A hundred years after the beginning of modernism, at a time when lessons from the modernists are relevant for today's changing urban communities and Environments, many of its manifestations in architecture across the world are at risk. To assess its 1relevance, modernism will first be redefined in view of present realities, through the exami1nation of the evolution of modernist ideas behind the architecture and urbanism of Tel Aviv.
