Characterization of charging ability of the silicate minerals
To separate granular material it is important to knowi its charging ability. In this contribution the method of charge determination of particles due to the triboelectric charging is described. Three different materials are applied for the transport of powders. They are: metal (iron), polyvinylchloride (PVC) and rubber. The classification of used silicate minerals was carried out based on the theory of electrical double layer. The results are presented in the form of current-time curves which characterize the amount of charge in the vessel with exactly defined specific capacity.
