Finite element modelling of manufacturing processes for plastic deformation
The object of the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Departament's computational mechanics of solids section is to offer industry solutions to problems requiring deeper knowledge regarding the mechanincs of solids and how they can be numerically modelled. This article summarises the foundations of plastic deformation, together with the results obtained during the experimental phase and from modelling two applications of plastic deformation processes being studied as part of mechanical engineering students' undergraduate projects.
