The Necessity of Opinion Polls for the Town Planning Analysis within Municipalities
The authors prove the necessity of carrying out opinion polls for the assessment of town-planning decisions and the effectiveness of municipal authorities’ activity in the field of creating a comfortable environment. The authors come up with an idea that no decision can be made without preliminary studying public opinion as it is a question of public health and subjective perception of life and environmental space. In case, the inhabitants do not trust the authorities and each other, it is impossible to create modern living standards, to solve important social problems and to realize significant for the population town-planning projects. Therefore, opinions, interests, offers and preferences of citizens concerning developed town-planning projects taking into account the balance of the main indexes, evaluation test of realized state programs of housing construction, social, cultural and household facilities and the degree of satisfaction of the population with the actions of the local authorities are to become the main subject of further research of the sociologists.
