ARTIFICIAL TOPSOILS MADE FROM KIMBERLITE TAILINGS
It is suggested that kimberlite tailings from the diamond deposit named M.V. Lomonosov should be used for producing the artificial topsoils. The laboratory experiments indicated that the optimal composition for growing the grass is next: kimberlite tailings 80 %, peat 10 %, dehydrated sludge 10 %. This substance is useful as cover layer on municipal and industrial landfills, quarries etc. The research was done within federal program "Academic and teaching staff of innovative Russia" according to the state contract № 16.740.11.0436 dated 3 October 2010.
