Analysis of ductility parameters and building performance level on dual system structure retrofitted with steel bracing
Ductility parameters and building performance level is important as a pre-assessment to a building condition. A higher building performance level will prevent the serious post-earthquake damage of building which will save environment, lives, less cost, and many more. The research is done by modelling existing structure consists of 18 floors and shear walls, then retrofitted with steel bracing with various steel profiles and layouts. The bracing is located at the perimeter of building. The ductility parameters and building performance level is obtained by using pushover analysis in Midas Gen. The result shows that UNP 150x75 with layout Type-1 (X model every two floors) is the best combination to enhance the ductility of structure and a better building performance level from DC to IO in both directions.
