The desert laboratory: Strategies for three projects
The article explores the landscape images as a project subject. The introduction analyses the historical relationship between the images of the Peruvian landscape and how to intervene them. Then, there is the analysis of a church and two museums developed by the author. The three pieces of work share a geographical space, the desert of the Peruvian central coast, and the same moment in time (2006-2009) in the professional development of the Barclay and Crousse office. That space and its unique characteristics have determined ten project strategies which are analysed in this text. The projects allow proceeding with a project research that Barclay and Crousse studio call “the desert laboratory”.
