A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism

In the last few years flood prevention has been recognized to be an issue that requires a collaborative approach of a variety of stakeholders. Amongst these, spatial planning and water management agencies play key roles. So far, these stakeholders' performances have been hampered due to major deficiencies in accessing relevant information. This article investigates this shortcoming. It develops suggestions for how to collect, manage and distribute information in order to make full use of tools and orders that have already been implemented in planning law and policies.
