A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
S.A.F.E. An emergency project experimentation
The proposed paper describes a project research activity on the theme of temporary housing modules needed to cope with emergency situations. The product is designed to be placed in the segment between the provision of first aid shelters (currently solved with field tents) and new housing. In the case of natural disasters, often unpredictable, one of the greatest needs is to control the reactions of the affected communities. Starting from a historical reading of the theme of temporariness, carried out through a vast reference literature and from data on the delivery times of housing containers at the most recent seismic events occurred in Italy, the experimentation was oriented towards an assembling system, modular, aimed at optimizing delivery and installation times, as well as storage.
