APPROACHES TO EXPRESSING THE PHENOMENON OF MEMORY IN CONTEMPORARY ARCHITECTURE
The article investigates approaches to the phenomenon of memory in 21st century architecture. Transmission of memory has been evident in architectural projects throughout history. In the theoretical and practical works of 20th century architects, we can see conceptualizations of the phenomenon of memory as part of modern form building. Postmodern architecture formulated ways of expressing memory, which were then developed further in contemporary architecture. The article discusses examples of objects that demonstrate memory materialization in latest architecture. We suggest three approaches involving different ways of expressing memories. It is concluded that each approach has its own specific compositional and artistic techniques of expression.
