Reviewing of life cycle analysis of a structure with building information modeling
Today, Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology is widely used for modeling and design. However, the advantages of this technology in the field of maintenance are not yet fully known. In this study, the advantages of BIM and the obstacles to its use in the maintenance phase were examined, and it was concluded that the adoption of this technology will take a few more years. Maintenance is a vital part of the life cycle of a building, which needs maintenance to maintain its value. In addition, the building can perform its duty and provide comfort to the residents. Eighty-five per cent of facility costs are incurred when the building is fully constructed. Successful maintenance reduces building performance and upgrades and, repairs and associated costs. The need for access to accurate information for maintenance is critical. Information modeling is the building of databases that are able to store, organize, and exchange communications and structured information. In this study, the BIM approach in building maintenance and other methods is compared, and its advantages are examined.
