Économie urbaine et régionale au tournant du siècle
This article examines the relations between the economic geography of the 1990s and recent economic theories. The part of the article develops a typology of contemporary research in spatial economics outlining the key features of the following concepts : industrial organization, industrial district, network, governance and conventions. Finally it compares approaches which proceed respectively from an analysis of the local and the global. The conclusion proposes a number of directions for research.
