Chemical Strability of Microwave Vitrified Waste
This article presents the applications of microwave energy in the environmental technologies. A considerable attention is devoted to the microwave vitrification of a magnetic carrier used for the waste water treatment. The TCLP test was used for a chemical durability determination of the vitrificate prepared by the microwave vitrification. The obtained results show a very good chemical stability. The main advantage of the microwave application in the vitrification process is a rapid heating.
