Meio ambiente e interdisciplinaridade: desafios ao mundo acadêmico
Academic production of knowledge in the past two centuries was marked by a clear specialization trend. The environmental issue, seen through the lenses of sustainable development, having currently acquired a considerable importance, introduces significant changes in this scenario and points to the need for an interdisciplinary approach (de-specialization). Using examples taken from the Brazilian scientificproduction, based on data provided by CNPq and Capes, this text draws a profile of graduate programs addressing the environmental issue, nationwide. A critical analysis of the process is highlighted, as wellas the important limitations and challenges incurred in building this new field of knowledge.
